File Your Confirmation Statement

A once-a-year check that Companies House holds the right information about your company — missed deadlines are a black mark against the company, not just late paperwork.

Every UK company must confirm at least once every 12 months that the information Companies House holds — registered office, officers, shareholders, SIC codes, PSC register — is still accurate. It isn't a formality Companies House lets slide; a late confirmation statement can eventually lead to a company being struck off the register.

HTG Accountants reviews what's changed since your last statement, files it before the deadline, and flags anything that needs a separate filing first (a director change, for instance, has to be filed before it can be confirmed).

What happens if I miss the deadline?

Companies House can take enforcement action, including striking the company off the register, if a confirmation statement is significantly overdue.

Is this the same as my annual accounts?

No — the confirmation statement confirms company information with Companies House; annual accounts report your company's financial position and are filed separately.
